Starting in the bustle of East London, you’ll pedal through the rolling hills of the Chilterns, historic towns, and stunning countryside of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire before arriving in the world-famous city of Oxford.
Covering around 115 km (approx. 72 miles) in a single day, this is more than just a bike ride – it’s a journey of determination, community, and impact. Every mile you ride helps raise vital funds for life-changing projects at home and abroad advocated by TEAMMC’s partner Muslim Charity.

Here’s what your day in the saddle looks like (timings are approximate):
- 08:00: Start at TEAMMC Cycles, London E1
- 09:30: Café stop in Uxbridge
- 11:30: Rest at Wycombe Jubilee Road Mosque
- 14:30: Snack break at The Cornfield Bakery, Wheatley
- 15:45: Ride into Oxford via Magdalen College
- 16:00: Finish: Asian Cultural Centre, Oxford
- 16:30: Return to London via minibus
- 20:00: Arrival at TEAMMC Cycles

It’s a moderate-challenge ride: a mix of flatter stretches and some testing hills through the Chilterns. You’ll be in the saddle between 6–8 hours of cycling, depending on your pace and the breaks. Cycling from London to Oxford is the perfect challenge if you’re ready to push yourself a little further.
You can cycle London to Oxford on a road bike, hybrid, or sturdy mountain bike. For the smoothest and fastest ride, a road bike is ideal. Hybrid or mountain bikes will still get you there, but the ride may feel more challenging, especially on longer stretches of tarmac.
Yes! We’ll arrange a minibus for yourself and a support van for your bike to get you both back to London safe and sound. We will finish the journey back at TEAMMC Cycles, where you set off in the morning.
The ride is open to cyclists aged 16+. You don’t need to be a pro, but some long-distance training prior to the event is essential. If you’ve managed a 60-70 km ride before, you’ll be ready for this challenge with a little preparation.
For a safe and enjoyable cycle ride from London to Oxford, make sure you come prepared. Essentials include a helmet, water bottles, snacks, and a basic repair kit (spare tube, pump, tire levers). Comfortable cycling clothing and padded shorts are highly recommended, along with sunscreen, sunglasses, and gloves for protection and comfort. Don’t forget a light rain jacket in case the weather changes, and a phone or GPS device for navigation and emergencies. Packing these items ensures you’ll be ready for the full 115 km journey with confidence and comfort.
