Every Mile You Ride Helps Rewrite a Child’s Story
We’re not just cycling from London to Cambridge, we also raise funds for Muslim Charity’s The Children of the World campaign. It’s one of Muslim Charity’s flagship initiatives dedicated to protecting and empowering children deprived of basic rights and dignity. Many young lives across Asia and Africa are trapped in a cycle of extreme hardship – lacking education, shelter, and opportunities – and in the most desperate cases, forced to live on the street. Through this campaign, Muslim Charity intervenes directly by rescuing vulnerable children, providing them with safe homes, and supporting their access to schooling and emotional care.
Education lies at the heart of the campaign. With an estimated 750 million adults globally unable to read or write, and many children missing foundational literacy and numeracy skills, the drive for learning is critical. Muslim Charity works to rebuild stability in children’s lives by creating secure living environments and educational opportunities This helps them to shape stronger futures for themselves and their communities.
Your participation in the London to Cambridge bike ride 2026 directly supports these life-changing efforts. The funds you raise help cover costs such as rescue operations, shelter, schooling, care, and reintegration for these children. In effect, each mile you ride becomes a step toward restoring childhood, dignity, and hope for the most vulnerable.

FAQs
The London to Cambridge bike ride is suitable for riders with some long-distance experience. Most of the 90 km route is fairly flat, with a few gentle climbs to keep it interesting. Depending on your pace and stops, you can expect to be cycling for roughly 5-7 hours. It’s a great step up for anyone who has completed 50-70 km rides before. If you haven’t ridden long distances before, you can still sign up. We do recommend some long-distance training beforehand, though.
Road bikes are ideal for speed and comfort on tarmac sections, but hybrids and mountain bikes will manage the route too. Be aware that non-road bikes may make longer stretches feel more demanding.
Yes! After crossing the finish line in Cambridge, a minibus will take all riders back to London, and a support van will transport your bike safely alongside you.
Cyclists aged 16 and over are welcome. You don’t need to be a professional rider, but prior long-distance cycling experience is recommended. A few training rides of 60-70 km will help you feel confident for the challenge.
Although we take care of the route, the snacks and the return journey, we recommend to pack the following for a safe and comfortable day:
- Helmet and gloves
- Water bottles and small snacks for you to have on the bike when you ride
- A basic repair kit (spare tube, pump, tire levers)
- Padded cycling shorts and comfortable clothing (makes any long-distance challenge so much more comfortable)
- Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a lightweight rain jacket
- Phone or GPS device for emergencies
Having these essentials will help you enjoy the 90 km journey from London to Cambridge with spirit and comfort.
